At Discover Clarence the heart of the Clarence Valley Multicultural Festival is a belief that diversity is our greatest strength. Lilian Hong

Multicultural Coordinator

Lilian Hong is the inaugural Multicultural Coordinator for TAFE NSW in the North Coast region and Chair of the Clarence Multicultural Network. Spanning 12 local government areas from Port Macquarie to the Tweed, she builds cross-sector partnerships that connect multicultural communities with education, training, and employment pathways.
 
A community-driven leader, Lilian has designed and delivered a suite of place-based initiatives—including Migrant Education & Employment Expos, Law, Safety & Wellness Expos, Know Your Local Services events, Walk & Talk with Your Community, and multilingual TAFE information sessions—while strengthening collaboration with councils, health, police, service providers, businesses, and community leaders.
 
She brings a strong background in community engagement at TAFE NSW, board experience with Volunteering Coffs Harbour Inc., and a passion for creative, inclusive programs. Known for turning ideas into measurable outcomes, Lilian is committed to amplifying diverse voices and fostering a genuine sense of belonging across the North Coast.
 
Outside of work, she is a dedicated ukulele enthusiast—often spotted at local festivals where she draws inspiration for new music and community event ideas.
